Hello people.

I'm in need of a couple icons for an FTP application I'm making:

  • My main application icon - a phoenix in front of a sun;
  • An icon of a server and a green + on the left bottom side of it;
  • An icon of a server and a red - on the left bottom side of it;
  • An icon of a server and the same phoenix as on the main application icon on the left bottom side of it;
  • An icon of a server and a green check mark on the left bottom side of it;
  • And finally, an icon of a server and a red X on the left bottom side of it;

All of the icons should be Office 2007 style (glossy) and in a red lightning. (not too red)
You will be in the credits list and have a mention in the About window.

Thank you.

I did not make these icons but they are released under a noncommercial license.

Quick suggestion. Most of the icons you want have the "server +". If you could tell us which server picture to use...that would be great.

Which need to be icon pixel size? Office used mostly 16x16 pixel icons, some are 32x32 pixels and rare ones 24x24.
When you shrink huge icons (most of so far posted icons are 256x256 pixels) they lose details.
I go for 16x16 as it seems to be Firefox in browser icon size too -- so pretty much standard.

EDIT:

Finished 16x16 icon :D This icon is free for use for anybody.

Actually applications use 64x64 (for Alt+Tab) so I would like that :D
Also, the icon seems very pixelated, could you change it to Office 2007 style/glossy?

Thanks very much by the way ;)

I googled how Office 2007 icons look, I got bunch of examples. I do my best to achieve that feel. My graphical skills aren't quite good.
I start doing 64x64 with Office 2007 style, I have upcoming important things to do so this can take time to finish. I practise my skills with this task.
No need to wait me -- if I post something ,it is good, otherwise you have to use something else.

    News portal has been retired. Main page of site goes to Headline News forum now
  • The Helper The Helper:
    I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.

    Easily done

    https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out

    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
    I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
    RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/
