hi... i need some help.

I've got a hero that I want to be able to only attack with 1-1 damage.

So when hes like level 10 and his main attribute is agility and he has 50 agi, his attack is still 1-1 damage... how do i do that?

Edit: also, is it possible to not allow people to see that he has an attack? ive tried Combat - Attack 1 - Show UI False ... doesnt do that

Edit: Alternatively, how do I make someone attack like hes casting impale, only it doesnt stun and theres no air time. (like shockwave but with the nice impale "style" and impale model), but id prefer the above

I dont think its possible for a unit with an attack to not display one in the UI.

and I guess you could reduce the attack damage of the hero through upgrades each time he gains a level

You can also make the attack style "Missle (Line)" and give the attack splash if you want it to do damage in a line like shockwave.

Why do you want 1-1 damage? Did you know that 0-0 is possible? Well, if you're OK with 0-0, you can set both "Damage Number of Dice" and "Damage Sides per Die" to "1" and set "Damage Base" to some really low negative number like "-50" (hold Shift when you double-click).

Edit: also, is it possible to not allow people to see that he has an attack? ive tried Combat - Attack 1 - Show UI False ... doesnt do that

(This works for Heroes; I'm not sure if it can be done with non-Hero untis.) If you set "Combat = Attacks Enabled" to "Attack 2 Only" then this is what you get:

By the way. "Show UI" set to "False" results in this:

Change a field in Gameplay Constants that says something about bonus damage given from Primary Attribute.

He probably wants other ordinary heroes, though.

wow thanks drinkslurm. that helped a lot.

Btw, when you say -50... why -50? if my heroes gets enough levels/damage from ites/agi, can he go back to over 0 damage?

Thanks. and yeah i do want ordinary heroes. the thing is i want to have a burrowed lurker be able to attack with impale. as in when he attacks, a unit casts impale etc.

i dont want it to be so the IMPALE model FLIES out like shockwave. you know how impale works.. its like one model of impale after another and a lot of complicated stuff... anyway.. thanks guys

Hate to double post, but I tried that, and I can't set damage to a negative value. I can set a lot of other fields to negatives, but not damage. Hmmm?

That's probably because if damage were a negative value, it would heal the target instead. I don't think that Blizzard would want your units healing enemy units. :p

To Tubba: Did you try holding down shift and double-clicking the field? That normally lets you set negatives in integer fields.

if you havent already done so, go to Preferences>General> "Allow negative values in the Object Editor". I think that will allow you to do it. (but maybe the "holding on to shift" is to help "override" it so whether or not its checked, you can have negative values.)

Then when you go to the base damage place, hold shift and double-click it. It'll look the same as when you don't hold shift but now you CAN put negative values in...

Yes, and yes. Didn't work. You think they fixed it in an update or something?

Besides, shouldn't it be impossible programming-wise considering integers are absolutes?

Why not instead give the hero no attacks and instead give the lurker slow/curse or whatever, make it cost 0 mana and have no effect and then when the ability is cast you make a dummy do impale.

i think you can have a dummy constantly cast cripple on your hero, and then using cripple set the damage reduction to 100%

OR give your hero it's own attack type that does 0% damage to all armor types
