Movement help-possibly jass?

Hey, I am making a game where i need to use the arrow keys as the movement system. I need th up key as the gas pedal or accelerator and left and right as to turn left or to turn right. Can anyone help me with this? My friend said it may possibly be JASS, but i am not familiar with JASS. If anyone can help that would be great =D

Perhaps you can get your hands on Blizzards racing map and base stuff on that? I'm not sure if their map is protected though.

Blizzard really sucks at coding .

Just because you built the car, that doesn't mean you can drive it well I guess...

Haven't checked through it. However I'm rather sure there are events that responds to keyboard event.

Save the variable of the units facing angle and then do a timer or loop to make the unit change angle by adding or reducing the Anglevalue. Adding will result in turning left and reducing will result in turning right.

yeah i got the metaphor. lol you jsut didnt like fully exlapin it lol. could you show me what your variable/angle value would look like? i havent used world editor since 2 years ago lol

Since this is posted in the Jass forum I'll explain it in Jass:

call SetUnitFacingTimed(vehicle, GetUnitFacing(vehicle) + 10, 0.25) // + 10 makes it turn left, - makes it turn right. 0.25 is the time it takes to turn (am however unsure if it works with a unit which is constantly moving by triggers) and vehicle is the racecar.

Do you need more then that, or is it enough?

What more to show without doing it all? perhaps:

set i = i - 1

This is the event that would go off if you press Left for instance.

Just struck be today. I think them most comfartable way to turn a vehicle is to create a new trigger when you press for instance left arrow get, make the unit turn periodicly and stop when player releases left arrow, or starts pressing right ( the event in the new trigger )
