Not-talking portrait problem

Did anyone solved the problem when you send a transmission
and the guy on the portrait is just sitting there staring and not talking.

Seems like there is some bug in Sounds or some restriction, cause
when I add a new sound, select the sound file and try to add
subtitles, the editor pop up this error:
"Warning: Invalid text key parameter used for value 'asd'."
'asd' is the subtitles I try to add (example).
I couldn't find any way to interact with that text key parameter.
If I duplicate a sound I can change it's subtitles, but seems like
the sound is not just duplicated, but also linked to the original. Weird
stuff happens when I use duplicated sounds (conversation mix-ups, subtitles mix-ups .... )
seems like Starcraft gets confused between
the original and the duplicate and uses values from both.

The only way I was able to make the portrait talk is by using facial
animations from the campaign sounds, but it looks weird.

EDIT: How can I create a transmission with talking portrait, sound and
subtitles (that can be turned off from the game) without triggering everything,
but using the action Send Transmission?

posting the map would probably encourage other people to assist you with your problem. I personally don't know much about the portraits, so I apologize for not being able to help you further.

Someone should get to you soon if they can see it with their own eyes.

The map is kinda huge (10 Mb) cause I imported sound files.
It is a remake of the first mission of the Starcraft Original Campaign.

I wanted to recreate the SC Original campaign so people can enjoy
playing it with the new SC2 engine, but seems like some tools in SC2
Editor has to be improved (or fixed...) before I can do it.

Known issues:
-Terrain sucks (I was never good at terraining)
-Portraits don't talk (I can't fix that)
-Missing portraits (Duke, Raynor Vulture)
-No race balance

Yesterday I found a thread with another group of people explaining the same problem. It was on this forum too, so I'd look around and ask the person how he figured it out.

I tried downloading your map to take a look and it was only 50kb instead of 10MB. When I tried to open the map it told me that it was corrupted.

@tom_mai78101: This thread is about SC1.
@Dave312: I'll try to upload the map somewhere else.

The download link is where it say "Save file to your PC: click here",
all the other stuff is ads.

News portal has been retired. Main page of site goes to Headline News forum now
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.

    Easily done

https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/
