You probably already know that SC2 is, and will still be at release, region-locked.
US vs US, EU vs EU, ... Australia vs Asia!

The official theory says "for lag reasons".
Previously, Australia played on north American servers. Makes sense.
Ever tried talking English in Asia or reading what they come up with? :p

Then again...You rarely see Fillipinos on Bnet due to either them hosting games over lan Via programs like Garena or pirated games.

Not to mention the fact that they'll have to play with all the pro Koreans... sucks for them.

What the hell man. Starcraft II is pissing me off! How the hell can they say it's for lag reasons when I've been playing in US East, probably the farthest region from the Philippines without any lag?

I think Battle.Net 2 uses dedicated servers? If so, then it still won't make sense, I've seen hosts from US with crappy internet, yet they managed to keep the game clean of lag. I have no idea where the hell they came up with the idea that it should be region locked. Out of everything people begged for in this game, this is surely not one of them.

I'm gonna play along side with Koreans? Do any of you know the ratio of how much Koreans are annoying and how much they're okay? 2 annoying Koreans out of 1. Also, they're probably like Germans when they host. They will kick you if you're not a Korean. Mo Koreans in my school sorta don't have any other groups other than their own ethnicity. You know when was the last time I played in the Asia server? NEVER. I said play, and I truly never played there.

Poor Australians? Don't you mean, poor, who ever can't understand any other major languages other than English? I'm going to expect game names with characters unrecognizable from my computer.

i think only the Philippines uses english as a secondary language in Asia.

Singaporeans are also good at speaking English. (I think it's because, now that they're business oriented, they teach English to their students to hopefully have more business relations in other nations.) Maybe they will speak English in Battle.Net instead of their own native language. (Hopefully)

Piracy is very common in the Philippines, that even I'll admit I've bought about a hundred pirated discs without worrying some FBI people will barge in my house one day. There will be people who will only buy pirated version of this game. Only a very few will buy the original but I doubt that our "middle-class" or lower will buy an original copy of this game. Prices are very costly nowadays. I do agree when you say they only play LAN games even if they have Battle.Net to play on. I guess some people prefer that.

Summary of my Post = The most frustrating and what I find useless feature of Battle.Net2 would be this.

More like poor everyone, region lock is pathetic. How does that fit into their latest "we want our community to grow together" philosophy?

Why dont you just download games? In germany buying pirated discs is in fact way more risky :p

or do you mean like original copys that are way too cheap to be legal?

most likely all games including custom ones

I've become a bit vary of SC2.
Any map that you submit automatically becomes blizzards property, iirc, which won't matter for most of us anyway, but I dislike the idea.

Take DOTA, if that map would have been made in the SC2 map editor, it would have been owned by blizzard, and the thought appals me.

Wtf...
To prevent lag :S

I've been playing HoN on USW servers and can play that fine.
Is bad enough in that game when you used to get pinoys who couldn't speak english
(Until they got shoved on Garena)

I like this game, but Blizzard keep giving me more and more reasons not to buy it.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
