Currently level 15. Killed a giant tree, but a bunch of eye balls zoomed in. Killed most of up but F5'd the hell outa there once I got low.

Did you get the death screen? There is a bug where you get screen darkening and death sound but your char is still alive if you refresh the browser.
Dying fast on lvl 17 is entirely possible though, especially robe users can die extremely fast and unexpected if you don't know what to look out for.

Related news: Patch 118 released, pot drops is way down but I got a Crystal Sword so I'm happy anyway

I guess I should do a status update.
I finally lost my Necromancer. First time I die in almost two months.

Some stats:
1915 fame. (2000 fame and I'd have 5 stars on necro...)
Maxed in 4 stats: att, def, spd and dex. Was well on the way to max wis too iirc.
t11 staff and t10 armor (I'm glad that I didn't wield anything too valuable)
+ some att and def pots

All that too a single djinn that sneaked up on me when I wasn't paying attention in godlands

My grave was glorious though:

Now I'm doing a priest instead.
