I say let them all die. It's how it should go. Why prolong life when our planet is overpopulated?

Ok. Lets start 'depopulating' the world by killing you?
Yeah. We need less people. Lets juts kill you.

Lets just say that we increased the population dramatically over the years.

The fancy lines don't lie

Over 7 billion people?
I thought we weren't at 7 billion yet. Unless those are estimates?

So if we can't use the clones for insurance policies, extra body parts, or slavery, then what's the use of clones?

None. Which is why many people voted no.

No, I don't want a copy of myself. Cloning would ruin the population of the world, and the all people would be boring, and everyone would be the same. It's better when everyone is unique, and different.

They'd still be unique. Just same looks.

Disease take care of overpopulation.

Always has, always will.

Unless we invent uber-meds from hell.

Yeah... And Medicine takes care of Disease

Nearly always has, Nearly always will, and very likely will always in the future :)

I voted yes.

In my opinion it is hardwired into the human mind to become god, so why not try to make it so we can be god?

Question:

Does cloning have to be in real life? They can clone themselves in the virtual world/reality, and not having to worry about clones in real life.

Take MegaMan Battle Network series, the protagonist Lan and Hub, the latter also called MegaMan.EXE. They were both twins, but Hub died of some diseases (I forgot!!). Dr. Hikari, or Dad, clones Hub as MegaMan.EXE and placed the program into the virtual realm of the Network, where people came to be in touch across the world.

If human technology is that advanced, with a huge Network database and such, or people with PET, then cloning yourself into the Network counts as a debatable issue among humans?

I loved to see that happen, but it's not an issue right now. It will be in the future, hehe. :p

Um... the network thing would be pretty pointless. You want to create life in a virtual world. People in the real world would never know what's going on in the virtual world unless they are 'connected' or whatever it is. Might as well get a cyber-pet or something. Or a zwynkie or w/e they're called.

Exactly, would you like it if you clone yourself in CyberNet?

As far as I know, there isn't much point in clones at the moment. There might be some sort of advantage we can only see later, as was true with many previous sciences, however, I still can't see any problems arising. Hitler and Jews mostly worked because people were already mad about stuff, not because of anything the Jews did. They were merely a convenient scapegoat, so if anything like that were to happen with clones being repressed, it likely would have happened anyways, though some other obscure minority would be repressed instead.

I think people would just make a more advanced 'Sims' before they make a super grid of clones.

Effect would be about the same.
