How do you make a spell, such as Storm Bolt, cost gold in order to cast it?

However, I don't want it to be done simply by using a trigger, I want it to have the gold cost on the spell, like Destroyer Form and other morphing spells that require payment.

Is there a way to do this?

You probally just have to base the ability on an ability that costs gold.

But the only abilities that I know that cost gold are morphing spells.
And that won't help if I want to have an ability like Storm Bolt.

On the destroyer form it costs resources but I don't know if you can do Storm Bolt without triggers.

no triggers, no solution.

You could try basing a skill of Reveal, the skill that those Goblin Laboratories or whatever they're called (Those merchants that sell Goblin Zeppelins). It's an ability with a gold cost. It's not unit-targeted, but it's better than nothing.

As far as I've tested, you can't get targets with that spell. You could however use it for a War Stomp -type of ability.
