The other night I passed by one of those "fanatic" preachers... and after 500 ft past I ended up turning around and talking with the guy for 2 hours. I was curious whether he'd be open to incorporating evolution of species and society into his beliefs at all as perhaps a method of bootstrapping humanity to a high level of understanding that couldn't be achieved with a theocratic rule. The answer was basically; "No."
Meanwhile he said something which has been bothering me; he brought up Apple. He said we have a responsibility to not buy into Apple products because of the inhumanity which occurred at their contracted factories. Now I understand depending on your scope this isn't or is directly Apple's fault... yet it is true that Apple does nothing despite knowing of this. Apple could very well put a end to it with a fraction of the cost for their new super HQ.
Treating Apple products like blood diamonds -- is buying them wrong? This isn't about the end-product.
