it's a gene that determines a person's attributes such as obedience and gullibility, which affect religious capacity
(sorry if this sounds a little bit rude, I'm writing it for the third time because my **** browser messed up. grrr.)

So you're saying that an ogg (obedience/gullibility gene) exists? Wouldn't that imply that anti-authoritarian education had little to no effect on children? Why does real-life experience teach me otherwise?

Wouldn't it also mean that the ogg is prevalent in european humans since it has been carefully selected for about 1500 years (and once again in WW2)? Would that mean that we are genetically unable to have/express free thoughts and speech? How should we address this fact in constitutions which entitle us the right to do something we are not genetically capable of?

How did the enlightenment happen? Random genetic mutation that instantly happened at many places arround europe at the same time at once? Or was it just another mask for our ogg, actually falling for the words "sapere aude" in our gullibility and obedience?

"it's either a choice or forced" - isn't that always the case for everything?
What he probably meant with forced is forced from the outside.

I said religious capacity - meaning that things such as anti-authoritarian education would be able to override that, however on the flip side a perosn without the ogg would feel forced when inserted into your next scenario, while a person with it would be more accepting

culture/surroundings can override genetics to a certain degree, this is the equivalent of the nature vs nurture argument in psychology

Well, with all the speculation. So where is the evidence for Religiosity Gene?
Btw: People believe or follow religions for various reasons. Right?
So why reduce them all to a gene? It's kind of ridiculous.
