what does unemployment have to do with narcotics?

It's called conscientious objector during conscription and you don't join the military if you're not going to contribute.

I think there are a ton of stuff the military can do at home that doesn't contribute to any ongoing hostilities abroad.

Probably, but that's not what happens when you join a military. That's what happens when you get a job the military outsources to a private company.

excuse me, what? was that a response to what I wrote?

>> yes, I was discussing the military - the government that controls said military is an entirely different can of worms that has a lot of stuff wrong with it, but that is irrelevant in the context of a military point of view.

Your point being?

>> there is no point in having an army if it won't fight in a war, and there isn't much besides an army that can keep a country safe (no army => easy target => need I go on?)

in a free and open country I am allowed to sell whatever I wish to whomever I wish. The US isn't a free and open country. You shouldn't refer to the laws of such a country, when discussing what is right/wrong.

>> how does discrimination fit into your "free and open" country? was the U.S. a "free and open" country 80 or so years ago when black people were not allowed to purchase products from certain vendors, because the vendors had the choice of whom to sell to? or what about "consumer rights"? there is a certain balance of power between producers and consumers, you won't find a way for both of them to be 100% "free and open"

in a free and open country, a man doesn't have to support whoever happens to be holding guns.

does a man have to pay taxes in a free and open country, or only if they want to? actually, does one have to do anything other than what they want? are there any "common good" benefits? police, firefighters, etc? or can one just rob/kill whoever they want? - and in your opinion, is such a "free and open" country good or is it essentially everyone being uncivilized?

If there's weapon in any country or whatever "You pay it "through taxes" even though you don't want it! Well, that kinda sucks, Doesn't It?

I'm pretty sure that, regardless of the state of the country, the man with the guns will usually get what they want from a man with no gun.

you missed my previous post - if there was a society in which people only paid for what they wanted, that society would have no army, no education, no police, garbage collection, infrastructure, or any form of government for that matter - essentially an uncivilized society - people generally want those things, even if they don't want the entire package (criminals may not care for the police, elderly may not care for education, etc.), but few people want to be invaded by a foreign country - and even if some people do pay enough to support an army, then the others are just freeloaders, which isn't fair to the others who must pay more than what would be their fair share in order to compensate

I do agree with you there somewhat. But I wouldn't call it "freeloaders" If someone, don't want to support an army.

I wouldn't pay taxes if I didn't have to. I'm actively trying to cheat on them right now.

there is a solution to this - we could just make paying for the army optional, and have a sign in front of each person who chooses not to support the army saying something like "I don't want to support the U.S. army, feel free to shoot me, as the army won't protect me", along with signs that say "mug me as I didn't pay the police to defend me", "I am not allowed to enter public parks because I did not support them", etc. - then those people would quickly die, noone would care about the idiots dying because of their own poor choice, and then the problem would be solved - right?

I like it! We need to get this in front of Obama immediately! Also technically you don't pay the police to protect you now. They're job is to deal with it after the fact, they aren't really required to come save you if you're about to be killed. When they do that, it's just kind of basic dignity, I mean realistically most people would come try and help you if we were allowed to be equipped like the police.

The president number one job is to protect the country "citizens and visitors" regardless if you pay tax or not!. Seriously, there's enough with $ to the army.. They should do something good for the citizens. Well, If they do, I bet more would pay tax.
Btw: why support an army "if they kill civilians?"

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
