Niiice idea.
Count me in :D

Idea - Stranded With Coconuts
You got stranded on a tropical island! There 4 trees, that hold coconuts (How convenient). You must pick up some pebbles for your slingshot, then shoot down a coconut from the tree, then break it open to get coconut juice, which will hopefully keep you alive until the ship comes.
Instructions:
Find some pebbles for your slingshot, then go into shooting mode. Set your slingshot's power for the distance, and the height for how high you want to shoot. Then, shoot! If you miss, try again, and be sure to have more pebbles!
Once you have a coconut, go into cracking mode, and press the arrow keys shown above your head to complete the cracking. If you press the wrong arrow key, then you lose 2 points towards the final breaking. You need 10 points to break open the coconut.
First person to drink their coconut juice wins!

It sounds more complicated then I explained probably... I guess you'll find out when you play eh?

BTW - How many players?
Until you say I'm assuming 12 ^^

What spell...

Oops. I copied the outline from the spell contest, thanks for pointing that out.

Are contestants allowed to use Jass New Gen Pack?

Sure.

BTW - How many players?
Until you say I'm assuming 12 ^^
· Supports up to 10 players.

woah july 1st............ people will lose interest fast i suggest shorting it
Oh damn! For some reason I thought July was after may. Make it like June 5th-10th

June 12th, then. But, like I said, if all submissions are completed before the due date, then the contest will end and grading will initiate.

By the way, I'm looking for an advanced Jass user to help me grade any Jass-submissions. My Jass knowledge is basic, and not thorough enough, in my opinion, to fairly grade Jass submissions. I've PM'd Chocobo, but if anyone wants to volunteer, I'd appreciate it.

I was wondering, how are you going to test that it's good for 10 players. I suggest you to hire a team of 10 to test the map. Actually I would like to be a one, but dunno if it would be allowed cause I am contestant.

Why'd you need 10? 2-3 at most would do to test tenability (WTF?! Firefox says tenability is a word, I just made it up... ten - ability. The capability to be 10, lol).

Well, seeing as this contest is becoming somewhat popular, and also seeing as I'm in Anchorage, whereas most of TH.net is somewhere else far away, it would be tough to arrange. I'm thinking that I'm going to go through all the maps in WE by myself, check out the core of it, then test it online with a few of my close friends.

I plan to have as many as possible.

I'm joining aswell.

Added. :)

Yah I would like to enter also.

Yeah, well that's a good idea too :D

Yesterday started making the minigame, but somehow I forgot to do it tropical themed, so it was more likely bombing humans in a city..

Bombing humans on an island?

Btw, I'd just like to remind everyone that it must be tropical themed. I'm afraid some people might not have noticed that.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
  • Ghan Ghan:
Heard Houston got hit pretty bad by storms last night. Hope all is well with TH.
