Custom units from one map going to another map

Alright, I just opened up another one of my maps after working on one, and a whole bunch (All, actually) of Custom Units and Abilities came over from it. Which kinda sucks, because I need a building that got changed, but I can fix. Just wanted to know why this happened.

You opened a map and there were custom units already there?

I think what your asking is if you can get a custom unit from one map to the other. I am 90% positive that you cannot. You just have to do it over again

You can by exporting, but brings all units I believe and overwrites the current.

Correct.

You open "Object editor" then goto file>export all object data i believe it says.

That will make a file then when u have opened the other map u go object editor but instead of exporting you choose importing and choose the file u created earlier.

This will import all the custom units/abilities/items w/e to the new map IT WILL OVERWRITE ALL CURRENT so beware.

Or you can just copy the custom units by pressing Ctrl + C and then Ctrl + V in the other map. That is kinda slow but it does not overwrite any units.

I said that I opened a map, and custom units from another came over AUTOMATICALLY.

That has happened to me once. For it not to happen again i think you save your map open new one then close it instead of reopening first map. for your problem you may have to reset your unit to defaults
