Russia's prosecutor-general has admitted that thousands of people are wrongly charged with criminal offences in the country each year.

Yury Chaika has promised measures to remedy the situation.

His remarks come a week after Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that an independent court system needed to be created in the country.

The Kremlin's critics have long claimed that the law in Russia is selectively applied and politically manipulated.

"Russian Justice" => Oxymoron if there ever was one.

But no one can blame them.. It's so cold up there, you couldn't even do anything. They were terrible in just about every war fought, wether it was the Cold War, WW1, they even lost to Afghanistan. They drown their problems in Vodka and the KGB. Poor, poor northerners..

They used a smart strategy that they used during the Napoleon and Nazis.

They burned their land and left nothing for the invading soldiers and let the good old winter take care of them.

And also the larger part of the German army was fighting on the Russian fron then on the Front with France, Great Britain etc., because facists and communists really don't like each other, and the Nazis didn't like communism at all.

He said that in 2007 alone, a total 5,265 people were eventually exonerated after being wrongly charged.

Does Russia have a death penalty? I'm wondering how many people weren't exonerated after being wrongly charged, and how many of them died for it.

The scorched-earth policy, as it were, killed more Russian citizens than French soldiers. For the nazi's, yes they did better, but with global warming and stuff.. It really isn't as cold as it used to be.

Russia has more people, it's just that they began industrializing a lot later then everyone else, so they weren't able to produce enough weapons to keep up. That's why they lost, not because those damn Russians are weak and drunk on Vodka.

Great. See, now this is what a Putin-Medvedev split of power can accomplish. A few more reforms like these, coupled with Putin's foreign and economic policies would make Russia much better.

Scorched Earth policy was very costly, yes, and resulted in the destruction of Moscow. However, it was also pretty much the only thing that really prevented Napoleon from taking over all of Europe.

It really isn't as cold as it used to be.
That's in the summer. Summer's nice. Try going to Russia in the winter.

A degrading attitude toward Russia? That's funny. Forgot about the Cold War, where even after losing more soldiers then all the other participators did altogether in WWII, the Soviet Union managed to challenge U.S. Power for half a century and spread communistic influence to China, where it's still present. And that's not considering that there were only two 'major' (comparatively, they're tiny) conflicts on US soil while Russia had fought conflicts on their own land all the time. Even now, Russia has an economic growth rate of 7% annually, which is 3 times more then that of most European countries. America's going backward. And that, comparing to China, which has 10%.

Your degradation is poorly founded.

And in the US we drown our problems by blaming another political party.

The US pumped a shitload of money into Afghani rebels. I believe there was a little war in Vietnam that was similar.... And the Cold War wasn't a war. WWI there was a huge revolutio so they had to pull out. Have you ever even been to Russia? Because you're either incrediably misinformed or incrediably biased and refusing to accept, you know, facts.

Russia's not the best place, I'll agree. I don't really like anyone in the government there, especially Putin (I liked Yeltsin, but I was really young then), and crime is really fucking bad. But it's a hell of a lot better than you seem to pretend it is. Although you also implied that the US sucks in some of your previous posts....

They never lost that war though. The French army slowly died out... Also, must I mention their influence in North Korea? It's true that America could have won if the media didn't force them out, but hey, Vietnam wasn't right in the first place. Also do you know how much damage Russia did upon Nazi Germany? Shesh, guys.

Well, Germany's Schliefen plan was really what divided up their army and maybe even caused them the war. It wasn't so much the fact that Russia had a threatening army, as much as the fact that they were on the other side of them to France. This forced Germany to fight a two-front war.

Nazi Germany decided to break they alliance with Russia. This cost them the war. Russia only took revenge on this betrayal. Good for them.

Russia probably has more natural resources than any other country in the world. But their harsh climate and terrain has made it difficult for them to fully exploit these things.

The difficult climate and terrain of Russia has both blessed and cursed the Russian people, in that it has protected them from invading armies, yet it has made their economic and industrial progress a difficult struggle.

They are the number 1 exporters of natural gases and number 2 exporters of oil.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
