Slow in an AOE?

I want to make an ability, probably based off silence or cluster rockets perhaps, that slows the enemies it hits in the circular AOE. How would I go about doing that?

Make a trigger that picks every unit that is a enemy of the triggering unit of a radius of your AOE and slow them

How would I set the variable to the area of effect that the spell casts? I have no clue how to do it.

Code:
Event:
 A unit starts casting a ability of "your ability"
Condition:
 Picked unit is equal to enemy of triggering player.
Action:
Pick every unit(Every unit within AOE of triggering unit) and do Actions
Loop actions
Unit: Do slow poisen to picked unit
Sorry if this is sloppy i dont got WE right now... but there it is!

Generic unit event: Unit starts the effect of an ability

Ability being cast equal to X



Unit group: Pick every unit within 300 radius of Target point of Ability being cast and do (Actions)

Unit - create Dummy at position of Picked Unit
Unit - add Slow to Last Created Unit
Unit - Order Last Created Unit to Human Sorceress - Slow Picked Unit
Unit - Add a 1 second Generic expiration timer to Last Created Unit

Oh, I think you misunderstood. It's not within an AOE of the Hero. It's in the AOE that the ability is cast. You know, like when you use Cluster Rockets and there is an AOE you target.

EDIT: Oh I see your post now Firebladesx, okay I will try.

more neat um hold on real fast ill get the other stuff

Hero Ability (something like this)
Mana Cost – 95
Cooldown – 14
Area of Effect – 300
Duration – 15

Dummy Ability (bassed on blizzard)
set the correct duration stats buff and reduce the mana too 0

bassed off of mass sleep

I meant just match the AOE to the radius.... Oh I forgot yea use a dummy unit... lol beat

You do know you already have abilities in the Object Editor that can slow in an AOE either channeling or instant cast? Cause Silence can slow and it's instant cast, you can also take off the stop spell casting thing if you want. And if you want chanelling just go to Earthquake or Cloud, they'll do the same stuff for you, no need to go into triggers for that you know.

But the trigger that was posted alows more learning and variations.

The only problem is with that, that you'd have to use something just as similar as the things I've suggested. If you call it "learning", it's actually just re-doing the spell. I've been going through Object Editor a lot so I know it quite well but it's damn boring waiting for toolbars to finish the text you write. Good luck with your stuff btw.
