I am not 100% sure how it would work.

But it would be AI for normal warcraft map. AI Vs AI.

Or a Contest of some sorta where the AI Vs each other.
Some Sorta (could be heros fighting each other, or each side gets a pre determind army that battle it out.)

The person in charge would have to add the peoples AI to one game and have them battle it out.

Anyone interested?
 
Sure why not. I have a map I'm currently working on, but I expect to be done within 2 days at the most.

And according to the rules (I think), I could be a judge because I made an AI. (It's in my map I'm working on though.)

Yea, I think that would be the best way to judge how good an AI is, and how skilled the programmer is. Unless you have another idea? After all, it's your call.

I prefer the melle map. Idea. but just for the heck of it heres some other ideas.

Other Ideas:
2 teams start with x army. they dont buy or build anything. But they fight to the death. the one that has a guy left standing wins.

maybe 20 foots 10 riffle 5 knights a few catpults ect.

Or

You get x amont of cash, to build the army you want. then you have them fight smart.

As soon as this is up. the contest, i will start my AI. :) hehe, then acehat will be like dang rover2341's got some skills.

I think the melee idea is the best right now because it requires more skill than making an AI for just a few units. It also requires more skill than your second idea because in melee, you need to make sure you have gatherers and have the buildings you need to upgrade your base.
 
This is sorta on topic, i made a melee map, but the ai sucks cuz they dont know how to buy transports from the goblin labs. How do u even make then good? :D
 
Umm... I'm not sure if this qualifies me as judge level, but so far on every AI I've battled I confused them to the point of stopping all actions. Even Dota's AI was weak. :D
 
i am and they dont know how to buy transports. The map is like 5 big islands and smaller creep islands.
 
Oh, that reminds me. Sometimes on my map the normal ai give up all actions after creating 3 units exactly :p

Bump. Its been 24 hours i think. (i wont bump it again, but wanted to give it one more chance to get a little more people too a contest that may be coming soon.)

That is one of the most ingenious idea I ever heard! I can't participate, but I want to spectate like hell :D

I think when you host it, you should have some rules.

All varbiles have 4 letters of your user name infront. rove_x

So we dont get them mixed up.

I also hope we can just have a 1v1 map. and use one map. Ya it will make it a bit easier but this will be hard enough as is.

And of course you cant let, your team see everything.
So ill let you worry about how to you want to enforce rules like that.

I hope to do mine in the GUI :)
 
You could do a tournament style on a 1v1 map or something
So like
AI 1 vs AI 2
AI 3 vs AI 4
Winner of round 1 vs winner of round 2
and so on
 
I would love this to go on!

Only question is if it will be done in melee maps or some kind of arena with a set number of units/gold/food? (I'd go for food limit)

    And since almost all of my programming experience is with defunct shit now, I figure my best place is helping preserve legacy stuff. Which I don't know how to do necessarily, but I need some kind of a hobby and figuring out how older things worked is the only shit that really interests me. Well soldering and restoration is fun too, but no one is bringing me new stuff to fix and restore, so it's mostly old shit, and I LOVE OG Xbox so much. I want to make sure it can function as long as possible, until someone can effectively emulate it at least. I have like 15 I was going to fix over the winter and didn't get to.

    Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

    We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.

    We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

    So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....
