What does the 'Hero' ability do? What can it be used for?

For what? You can give abilities to both regular units and hero units normally. I'm not sure i understand what you mean.

Hero abilities can given to heroes and heroes only. They can also be learned and upgraded with hero points. (The points you gain when level up.)

I know that. What i mean is there is an ability called 'Hero', what does it do? When i give it to a unit, nothing happens.
