How Does Taunt Work?

I'm sorry im not at my real computer.

If a unit is attacking another unit and suddenly some unit cast taunt will every enemy unit start attacking the unit that taunted? or is it only if they arent allready attacking a unit.

Im wondering this coz I trying to fix the reuse of Order thing and this would work if its like in my teory.

I give order Attack-Move Unit to Point X On the way he starts attacking a building then suddenly a peasent enters his quisition range then i want him to attack the peasent and when both the peasent and the building are dead he continue to move to Point X

I'd love to elaborate about discussions...........

If a unit casts taunt it will pick every unit in the range of the casting unit, which is defined in the object editor and attack the taunting unit.

Which means every unit that can attack, and that the order of attacking the unit isn't falling apart for example, if a unit is stuck.

Taunt works like this:

You cast taunt
Nearby enemy units attack you
Nearby enemy units are free to do whatever they want, just that they will start attacking you, this does not change the fact that they can instantly after they're ordered to attack you do something else.

I would trigger the entire taunt, personally. Especially because I'm on a mac, and can't easily modify Taunt.

Dont think you get what i mean or i dont get what you mean.

I Defenitly dont want a triggered taunt since that fucks up the whole thing im trying to do.

I will give you this scenario.

I order unit through triggering to move to Point X.

An enemy unit casts taunt does my unit respond to that and when my unit has killed the unit that casted taunt will he proceed his walk to Point X?

I wanna know if taunt mess up ORders given. since you cant save orders in variables or you can do it but you cant use them which sounds stupid to me since that is the main reason to use variables to save data and use later. (stupid Wc3 engine)

nope, once the casting unit died, the unit will go back to its original orders
its like nothing happened
just like attack moving to an area

That is untrue.

I checked it:

I made a custom paladin, set it acquisition range to 1.
Ordered it to move to the other side on the map.
Added a Mountain Giant for me.
Used taunt when the paladin got close to me.
It killed me, and then did not move.

Funny... Taunt did not work on my footman with 1 Acquisition Range,

Then, I set my footman's AR to something like 450(default range of taunt),
and then ordered it to move to another point.

I interrupted his order with taunt during the middle of the move order.

But the results were unexpected....

After killing the Mountain Giant, it went back to it's starting position, not its destination of move as said by YourFace, nor just standing still like Leazy's paladin.

A------->B

A----/Taunted/---->B

Result: footman returns to A.

Now for the solution.. make it simple.. after taunting ur unit with the peasant, make a separate trigger with an Event-Unit Dies, and put the peasant there, so:
When the peasant dies, Order the unit to Move to Point X again.

P.S. The order to taunt is easily given as Unit - Issue Order with No Target, but you probably already knew that.
