Buying new laptop

In the end of July I will be moving to Korea, and I am required to buy a laptop. I am thinking about the Macbook Pro 17" Unibody, but I am not sure. The laptop should be somewhat portable and have decent battery life. I am looking for a laptop that doesn't exceed $2600.

Please give me suggestions!

Macbooks are very good. They are reliable and quick. I used one recently. Now I wish I had one. Stick with that choice.

But I heard when it hang, you need to wait until the battery used up since the battery cannot pull out.

macbooks are overpriced imo, but in any case a 17" as somewhat portable? go to a store and look at the size of a 17" first.. standard laptops are 15.4" and portable ones are smaller then that..

The portability comes from it being insanely thin. When they die and start to hang until the battery dies you can hard reboot them.
