Setting level skip to 0

In my map, heroes don't gain points to their stats automatically by gaining levels, instead they must learn three separate hero attribute abilities to add points to their stats (allowing for more customization). If a hero gains a level I have a trigger that gives him more skill points to spend so that he can add more than just 1 stat each level. However, I need the attribute bonus abilities to be able to level several time when the heroes go up by one level, but the lowest level skip i can get in gameplay constants is 1, which is problematic.

So, how can I make so that a hero can level up an ability multiple times each time he levels.

For those of you who are having trouble understanding:

Code:
-Hero goes from level 1 to level 2

- trigger gives him 2 extra skill points so he has 3 points to spend

-The hero needs to be able to level attribute bonus from level 1 to level 3, even though the hero is at level 2

I hope I'm clear.

If you can show me a trigger for it that would be very much appreciated. As for -1, do you mean in the level-skip for the ability, or in gameplay constants? In gameplay constants it does NOT go below 1.

Hold Shift key and double click the Level skip Requirement. Type -1 and there you go

Edit: Also um... This is something that I'm doing in my map... Did you get it from it?

No, I didn't. And trust me, many more people have probably thought of this before us. It's not a ground-breaking idea.

Even with holding shift, in gameplay constants it doesn't go below 0. Now, are you guys talking about setting level skip requirement to -1 in the ability, or in gameplay constants?

you might need to have 'allow negative real values in the object editor' checked, you can find this option in file->prefrences

otherwise it should work, just tried it on a new map and it seems to be working on my end.

thank you, I just needed to know if it was settable in the ability. Unfortunately I do not have my computer on me at the moment, but I'll check as soon as I get it.

And I did have allow negative values checked, but gameplay constants was being a ****. If you catch my drift.

Yeah, you can shift click the value down to 0 in gameplay constants.

I just did that for a Map I was working on.

Why not set the level req of the skill to -oblivion (like -999) if setting 0 to level skip cannot be done?

It wont let me take any of those (lv req, level skip, default level skip) below 1. "Allow negative real values in object editor" only applies to reals, not integers.

Allow negative values is hated (like me). Shift+clicking is better.

If that doesn't seem to work. Maybe, just maybe, it is probably better if you use the "Press esc to set stats" system. Or actually buy tomes with special money (Ehem, wood) or buy tomes that cost 1 food each (if you know how, and yes it is possilbe).

Could you explain more about this shift clicking business. Ive tried shift clicking the the field, shift clicking the [\/] arrow. Maybe this is a PC only thing? Ive also tried Alt-Clicking, Control-Clicking, Command-Clicking, Alt-Shift-Clicking, Alt-Command-Clicking, Shift-Command-Clicking, Shift-Alt-Command-Clicking, Shift-Alt-Command-Control-Clicking....none of them lets me take the "Stats - Required Level" below 1. =(

Yes. I have heard many stories of Mac users being unsuccessful with this.

Ok then Im gonna have to ask you for a big favor. (Well its not that big, it'll only take a couple minutes.)

Can you make a map with an ability based off of Attribute bonus and set the LEVEL SKIP REQUIRMENT to -1 then upload it so I can copy+paste it, ill edit all the other things about it.

+rep, of course.
