Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have been hired to make a whole new 'Star Trek' film.
Star Trek is, once again, boldly going somewhere it’s never gone before. Fresh off the news that Paramount was looking to completely reboot the series for the big screen, it has hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write, produce, and direct a new Star Trek film. They’re the team that made the excellent 2023 film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, as well as the underrated 2018 film Game Night.
Deadline broke the news of the project, which is “a completely new take in the Star Trek universe and is not connected to any previous or current television series, movie, or prior movie development projects.” Plus, this version is likely to introduce completely new characters to the franchise, though it’s unclear if they’ll star or support the story.
