Analog of *PhoenixFire ability* ??

hey guys i just in a shock right now...

Because i cant find any analog of *warcraft 3 PhoenixFire ability* !! Who dont know - this ability allow to make battletanks / battleships type of gameplay.

Weapons+ Its not the same!!! Because its not support weapon stacking... if here 2 weapons which attack ground only 1 will work!

So i am looking in Behaviors+ and its looks like here is nothing "to automatically shoot projectiles at nearby targets"!

Is it true? We are lack of this ability? Thx.

I have noticed that it is possible to hook up every effect to almost everything.

You could probably hook some attack effect thing up to an ability that automatically targets nearby units, such as the Mothership's Cloak.

This is possible with the turret abilities. o.o... Though which ones work I am not sure.

i've been playing with this trying to figure out how to do this for a while now... Not really sure. I was playing with the turret abilities which i think might be the only way... it feels like war3 had so many abilities that could be stolen from to form the ones you want but in sc2... there just aren't enough interesting abilities to use to make games like you could in war3 without some pain.

plus the data editor takes forever to use in order to successfully make ANYTHING. /sigh. i'll be watching this thread! i need to make a battleships game.

You do the pheonix fire thing by creating a weapon with the right flags and giving it to a unit. I forget the flags but you can figure it out.

If you want to test just take something like a immortal(nice cause very visible projectile) and play around with its weapon until it can move and fire at the same time.

Was able to successfully create this, but only if you want it as an unselectable unit... Since, when I used this method on an immortal, his walk animation was destroyed, as well as his upper turret's movement. So in effect, he could shoot while walking, but his animations were screwed.

What you want to do is create a buff behaviour with a periodic effect similar to the Cloaking Field, but change the effect to only target enemies rather than allies and player units, set the maximum targets to whatever value you want, and put a LaunchMissile effect of your choice as the effect for the search radius.

Here's an example map, featuring autofiring weapons with different periods, ranges, max targets, and one that requires 100 energy to fire.

What? Can't you just put units on top of units as Blizzard did with the Omegalisk from the demo video?:eek:

Edit: I mean attach them like they did.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
