Another ICON/SPELL help. (no one seems to bother)

1)Imagine when you use chain lightning.
2)The icon lights up, then the lightning shoots from your body (or weapon)
3)The icon remains lighted up until the lightning hits all the available targets
4)You cannot cast the spell again when the icon is light up
5)Then the icon returns to normal, and the grey cooldown swirl becomes visible and everything returns to normal



The hard part is, how do i make the ICON light up if i'm NOT using chain lightning, and I've got a spell that creates something, such as Pudge's Meat Hook, and I want the "lighted up" icon to remain until the hook ends.

in case you don't know what is the hook all about, it's a skill when the hero shoots a meat hook out of the body, then pulls something that it hits back to him. The hook part is easy to make, what's tough is the ICON, making it light up.

And What if i'm not using hook, but casting a unit or something, and the spell lights up as if he's channeling, yet the hero is allowed to move around, with the "light up" effect.

I don't want any other alternative, just this.

PS: I'm not sure but I think there is a trigger in JASS that sets the casting time of an ability, but I could be wrong... (I dun' want to go to the world of JASS T-T)

in Pudge Wars v1.19e, it is possible. Just that I don't know how to do it.

So it's possible. But I've seen the inside of Pudge Wars (It was UNPROTECTED!) and most of the triggers are in JASS format, so I presume it must be JASS..

Look for the past versions of Pudge Wars and maybe you get lucky that one of them is unprotected..

I tell you, I found a map that is unprotected and opened it. But another possibility would be that it was an edited map...

Use Caster - Animation Back Swing to set the delay

You can make an ability with the icon being lit up and whenever you want the icon to light up, you can replace the real ability with this dummy ability with the lit up icon and no function.

the back swing delay is a fixed value right? what if the skill effect ends before the delay is over?

If i replace the icon, there won't be the cooldown.

"Duration - Hero" of an ability is the duration of the effect ON HEROES.. Such as Immolation and Stuns.
