Barrier-like Trigger

Hi all,

Basically I'm making a barrier-like spell, with using certain models to travel around in circles around the hero when he casted something. My trigger would be something like

Create Unit
Every .05 second move to position of casting unit with polar offset

I have the "unit" as a flying unit with a certain height and the modem I want to use.

It works, except for when I move my hero to near a cliff or something tall, my surrounding unit will automatically "fly up" (probably due to them being 'flying units'), and the spell animation will obviously look like crap. Any way I can fix this?
 
Is the spell animation based on the trigger? If it doesn't look good, try changing the attachment points.

About the flying unit, try changing the Movement - Height and Movement - Height Minimum to the rate of height that you want. They must be flat, I think or just 1 difference.
 
Nope I don't put the attachment on the hero, instead I create units that travel around the hero in circles (using triggers, Move Instantly to blahblahblah every 0.05 seconds).

I tried tweaking the Movement - Height and Movement - Height Minimum, but the flying units still kind of fly up when it reaches cliffs and trees.
 
You could try using 'hover' instead of 'fly', you can still set the movement height but they don't fly over obstacles.
 
Hmm using "Hover" made the animation a lot better though there are still a little bit of height changes whenever my hero moves close to cliffs. Thanks though, I think that will do fine.

Btw, I'm using fan of knives missile model.

edit: don't wanna make another thread, so I wanna ask is there any way we can check whether a unit is ranged or melee?

    I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while

    Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.

    I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
