Hey all,
Just directing some attention to my latest mapping project, Battle Royale: Hurricane Island.
Quite simply, BR Hurricane Island is a hero-oriented, 12-player custom map that takes place on a small island terrain. Two opposing factions, the Alliance and the Black Hand, have found themselves shipwrecked there in an unexpected hurricane. To survive in this hostile climate, however, their struggle has degenerated into an every-man-for-himself free-for-all between the Alliance, the Black Hand, and the island's own native dwellers.
Win by killing off over half (6) of the opposing players. When heroes die, they will not dissipate but, rather, leave a corpse. When a hero's killer dies, the hero revives and gameplay continues. Thus, to secure victory, a player must score 6 consecutive kills without dying. Heroes begin at Level 5 and are reset to Level 5 when they revive. Each hero kill increases a hero's level by 1, regardless of the heroes' respective levels.
Additional map and hero information can be found on the official forum, located here. I encourage any of you to post feedback and responses either there or on this thread. Suggestions are also welcome.
Current map progress is at about:
40% hero completion.
0% terrain completion.
Furthermore, I would like to credit DotA and ToB for certain hero and spell inspirations (some of them taken directly), as well as The Hive Workshop for its enormous resource base.
