Block Casting but not LOS

This is on a map with no black mask or fog of war BTW. Also, It's all the same elevation.

I thought I remembered there being a way to do this...

you make the area, and whenever a units casts a spell, that has its target point/unit in that area, order the unit to stop

That's an idea... I was hoping to avoid using regions since it's akwardly shaped but I guess it could work.

Will this work for spells that have a 0 second delay time (both casting time and 0 animation backswing)?

make whatever is preventing spells create a invis dummy unit with an aura that does nothing but give a buff that says its unable to cast spells in area, then have a trigger that says
Event - A unit begins casting an ability
Condition - Triggering Unit has *your no cast buff* equal to true
Actions - Order Triggering unit to stop
Mind you i dont have WE open so the grammar may be wrong

Thanks you both for the ideas. I'll give 'em both a shot, although they don't particularlly address the issue exactly as I intended... here's a more in-depth description:

The overall scenario here is a kind of hero defense that uses a 'walled-off' region (created by increasing the terrain by 2-levels) to define where creeps can path to. But there is also a tele-pad that will bring player unit to the other side of the wall for shops, healing ect (a 'safe-zone'). I'm trying to make it so that they cannot attack creeps with longs ranges spells or attacks, or buff or heal allies on the other side of the wall (but they can heal allies ect. on the same side of the wall). But I still want all players to have unlimited vision across the whole map to decide when they need to 'get back into the action'.
Also, the creeps should stop trying to attack the hero after they teleport to the other side... As of right now they seems quite content to bunch up on the wall facing the hero on the other side. And the last issue (for bonus points) would be to disallowing the 'Blink' skill to be cast from the 'safe zone' and disallow it to be cast into the 'safe zone'.

The ideas so far might work for part of that, but if anyone esle has anything to add it would be most helpfull.

Pretty much you're going to have to make a few different triggers that check when a unit in the safe zone region casts or attacks. If the target (or target point - this is why you'll need multiple triggers/conditions) of the cast or attack isn't in the safe zone region, pause/order to stop/unpause triggering unit.

I don't know why you would want to have units within this "safe zone" be able to target each other...since it seems to me like you have some neutral non combat area. If that is what you're going for, adding invulnerability to your heroes when they enter (and taking it away when they leave) the safe zone should keep the monsters away.

Of course you could just avoid all these problems by extending your map bounds and putting the safe zone off somewhere distant (which would be ok since you said the heroes get teleported there anyways, right?)

Bummer, O well... I'll just have to code around it like you said.

Some heros can buff/heal, which I want them to be able to do in the safe zone. Invulnerability sounds like a possible idea to solve the creep problem, although I hope it doesn't interfere with certian buffing abilities which don't target invurnerable units

The safe zone, unfortunately, is almost in the direct center of the map, by design. It's very much part of the gameplay to have it there so I think I'll just haave to trigger it liek you said.

Thanks Curo and everyone else for the ideas, I'll be owrking on it in the next few days and see what I can come up with.

For the meantime I've used the "order to stop" method... The problem is some abilities are instant and others are triggered so they still activate. I've done case by case triggering around it, but it seems very in innefficiant.

1. make a dummy loop cast silence in that area.
or
2. store all abilities and their levels in variables and once unit steps in region, remove all of its abilities, when it steps out, give them back.
or
3. unit goes in region, remove all of its mana.

this is what i can think of off the top of my head.

I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
