Hmmmm, it appears my entry didn't go down too well...meh, who cares.

Well, i'm not completely sure that that Cinematic ill count, reasons are:
-Killfest didnt make it (no offense to you)
-And Player isn't a member (yet)


Oh, and just becuase a cinematic is completely awsome, and you have no cance of making better doesn't mean you can't win. On my account, that Cinematic would have taken a long time to make, and was probably made by near professionals (NOTE: I havn't watched it myself yet).

Some nice ideas , so get started.

P.S: Where do you get GarageBand? I've heard of it, but could never find a demo download or anything.

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to make that thing?

Close to 25-30 hours, between TGN, myself, and the others who had the map to do some minor work on it.

Hmm, that seems fairly fast, considering the scale of the cinematic. I guess cinematic maps don't take as long to make as playable maps, though. The fact that you only are creating units for what they look like, not how they're used in a game, definitely would speed things up a lot.

I see that player has joined. But I think i'm going to disallow that entry .
The reason for this:
-How is anyone going to compare to that! It's just too good for anyone to compare with. Now, if it did count, whats the point in having this contest if its obvious from the first day whos going to win?

I know this is going to make you angry, but I want a fair and fun contest.

Here's a reason:

Are they allowed to do group projects, Husky?

If not, then they can't submit that. Multiple people worked on it. Thus, voided.

So if he makes a cinematic especially for this contest, will it be allowed?

Alexander, nearly every cinematic, even short ones, are group projects, as it's very rare when one person can terrain, trigger, make cameras well, and sound edit well.

It shows a certain PERSON'S ability at cinematics. Not an entire group of possible professionals. It sort of gives the new guys a bit of a fair chance.

Now, that also screws out anyone who might be amazing at THIS, but bad at THAT.

Well, this is a debate people have been having for years Should the lucky/talented have to suffer for the unlucky and stupid? (Think about taxes and stuff... You may understand which debate I'm talking about)

Personally, I say let the talent suffer. More people suck then have outstanding talent

I did have the " group" thing in mind, after thinking about it, I was thinking yes, but on second thought, I think no. Why?

-There is only one award, so even if you did do a joint one, who would get the award?
-If you have one very talented person and one not so talented, the not so talented one, would get the talented one to do most of the work, and then the not so talented one could take the credit (hope you got that).

I see Killfest2 that you are extremely determined to get Player to win arn't you .

Well, if one can't do all those thing well, Killfest, then one can always make a really specialized map. Like mine, for instance. Who cares if I can't terrain (which I can't, by the way)? All the terrain is is a bunch of elevators arranged to look like blocks. And who cares if I can't mix sounds? All I need are some vaguely Bubble-Bobble-ish sounds and the music. And as for cameras, who cares? It'll be a fixed camera showing the entire "level" anyway. So yeah, cinematics are perfectly possible with only one person.

Juding will not completly be done on how good the cienmatic is, it will also be situated around Effort. So if you are not so good at all those things, you can still win.
As I said in my other post, this is a FAIR contest, so anybody can win.

Erm, I believe he meant to say it will not be judged SOLELY on how good it is Effort can make up for some quality, but not all of it.

Balance is the key.

OK, what I've decided is I am going to make a Cinematic with Player, and we'll submit that. On that note, i still have to ask him, but he said 'yes' last time, so I'm hoping he will again.
