US News Conn. Students To Get Cash For Passing AP Tests

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) ― Students who pass Advanced Placement tests at Wilby High School in Waterbury will be getting hard cold cash rewards.

The students who pass their final AP tests next year will earn $100 for themselves for every test they pass.

I don't really see the point in the $100 for completing the AP test.

People who take AP classes care about the class. They want to challenge themselves, not get paid. Plus, the college credit for passing the test is a reward in itself.

Unless they're trying to make an incentive for others to join AP classes... but if you take an AP class for an attempt to get money, chances are you're not getting that $100.

I found it funny/ironic when it was an AP article. (After the "WATERBURY, Conn." part)

This would drive students to do better, there are those who do well because they want to and this would be an added bonus and there are those who don't do well and will do well if this is implemented and then, there are those who just don't.
