Ever wanted to make that really cool mass-frost nova spell that hit everyone around you but you just couldn't get it right with your triggers?
Then this is the tutorial for you!
Disclaimer: Slowing Effects or effects that would normally be given with dummy units and triggered spells are not given because of the use of a different spell and just a model change for the look.
Lets start with a spell that we will call Arcane Explosion
Ever seen what a wisp does when it donates? Thats what its gona look like.
This may sound hard, but its all extremely easy.
Step 1: Make a new spell based off of Starfall.
Step 2: Click on the 'Buffs/Effects' tab and make a new buff based off of Starfall (Target).
Step 3: In the field, 'Art - Target' change the model there to Units\NightElf\Wisp\WispExplode.mdl
Step 4: Go back to your spell and change the field 'Stats - Buffs' to your custom made buff and your done!
That was easy, wasn't it?
Now just change the tooltips and other stats and you've got a usable Arcane Explosion, and MUI too!. Just as a side note, in 'Stats - Effects' you don't need to change this.
How about that mass frost nova I mentioned at the beginning?
You can have the look but no slow, just change the 'Art - Model' on your custom buff to Abilities\Spells\Undead\FrostNova\FrostNovaTarget.mdl
Arcane Explosion is a little know spell that I have seen in a map or two, it just damages nearby units with a cool effect.
Next Spell: Walls/Blockers - Requested By Ricky
Quite simple to do this one.
Make a new spell based off of 'Serpent Ward'.
Create a new unit based off of what ever, remove its movement, spells and attack.
Set its model to something that looks like it would be good for a blocker, 'buildings\other\WyvernCage\WyvernCage.mdl' is a good one.
Go back to your spell and change the field 'Level (X) - Data - Summoned Unit Type' to your custom unit.
There you go, your blocker spell and done w/o a trigger!
(X) = Any Number
Time Bomb - Requested By 1337D00D
To simple to go into detail with.
Simply create a unit, give it the spell 'AOE damage upon death', set it as the summoned unit for a spell, lets use Serpent Ward and volla, you have a timed mine.

Echo Slam = Fan of Knives
• Remove Art - Effect of the ability
• Change missile to Shockwave
• Echo damage would be triggered, but it's easy to make..
Frost Wave = Impale
• Remove Stats - Air Duration (somethin' like that)
• Change the missile to Frost Nova
• Change the Buff's Missile/Effect (somewhere at top of Icon) also to Frost Nova
• Change the stun animation to something Icey (Probably in the Doodands)

Base Spell: Shockwave
• Take away the 'Shockwave (Caster)' buff
• Change the missile art to Fan of Knives <Effect>
