creating effects in a line

Right now , I had a idea, the caster would cast a spell at the target location which is 900 distance away lets assume that.

Legend
X = Caster
S = Effect
U = Unit
--- = 300 distance

X---S---S---S

This is the visual image which I have created and how do I do that? Units will also be damaged in that 900 distance zone.
 
Find the distance between the two points.

Then divide the distance by how many times you want the effect to appear, and set that to a variable.

Then make a loop and create the effect at the casters position offset by the above distance multiplied by the loop instance.

It's not tested, and obviously the above would not work if you copy and pasted it. But that is probably how you should go about doing it. I haven't got an editor on me either.

However, the above will make all the effects appear simultaneously. If you want them to appear at separate times, you will need to use a timer.

I am thinking of making a spell that uses something like this, so I'm pretty sure it should work.
 
I know that It would not work if I copied pastied -.-" as it is just a function which takes variables so copy pasting would do absolutely nothing, I will try it when I get home now.
 
Depends if you calculate the angle using RADTODEG in the first place. Im use to calculating the angle with just Atan2((y2 - y1),(x2 - x1)), which returns the value in radians.

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
