description box size

can i change the size of the description box for items? cause mine needs to be bigger

Then I have no idea what you mean. Adding text usually increases tooltip side. There is a limit, though (I think it's 4,000 characters). And there is no way around the limit, it's hardcoded. How 'bout a screenshot?

I have run into this too and it was well short of 4,000 characters. Its really frustrating but what gets me mad as hell is that my buff descriptions are always cut short and the box size is set to what it was for the buff I based the ability off of even though it lets me add more text it doesn't display the rest of it.

yeah i wrote up an item description... it had

History - Bla Bla Bla




Description - Etc...


Effects - X str X int X agi Xdamage XAS lifesteal...

it gets cut off 3/4 through description

if Im correct, i seen through dota descriptions text and they use
|r which cut one neat line for u without having a need to use spacebar

How about a dummy buff or ability as an extra description? I mean, if people would really care about all that info, why not create a spellbook with a bunch of dummy abilities with descriptions in addition to the original?

That's about the upper limit I'm going to read for a tooltip.
If you're coming with epic "stories" there... who's going to read that?

how does icefrog (creater of dota for those who dont no...) do it... like his hero descriptions are massive... i need something like half to 3/4 of the size

you need to add |n

that will allow more space. u can basically go from the top of your screen to the bottom. if not it will, yes, get cut off.
