dynamical variable help

i am bad at jass and i just got this idea and wondering if its possible...
can i change ability variables ingame..
for example damage of war stomp level1... <AOws,DataD1>
can i somehow set the variable to some other value in jass?

Work arounds are possible with the engineering upgrade ability.

EDIT: and can we use them ingame? like convert them to strings.

That's why alot of damage and what not of trigger-enhanced spells are set to zero, and the damage is simulated in the trigger.

because they are predefined in war3map.w3a file...you cant edit the map while playing it.
