Environment Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

Did it ever occur to you guys that maybe, you know, there could be a periodic cycle as well as human attributable warming? Honestly, the idea that humans haven't contributed to global warming "because there is a temperature cycle anyway" isn't just fallacious, but also recklessly ignorant

Is the hype in the American media justified? No. Is Al Gore a 'hypocrite'? Probably. Has human activity contributed to warming? Yes. If it hadn't, would this be an excuse to ignore pollution, ocean acidification and the dependence on fossil fuels? No!

Personally, I don't mind using cleaner fuels and cutting down on pollution from sulphur and the like, but when they start pushing useless wind turbines I start getting annoyed.

Plus, there are so many frickin' taxes based on "Green" issues that it gets to the point where you just want them all to shut the F*** up so we can all go back to living our crappy little lives in peace without extra hindrance from the stupid f****** hippies in the government.

Really, I live on the Florida coast. My house wouldn't be suburban when the ice caps all melt away. It won't even be Ocean Front, it will be "Ocean" period. My house is predicted to be 15 feet under water!
