Origin: When I was thinking up ideas from Eternal Demise TD, it came across to me that the new plot line mentioned a failed battle. Why not turn it into a map, similar to hero seige, except with units.
Objective: You would command a force of units that would attack the invaders. The invaders would also attack you. You goal is to kill all the units.
Details: There would be mutliple taverns for each person. The total amount of units sold by the taverns should be around 100. The only unit you can purchase form the begging of the game would be a Man. This man would have the state of the art technology of punching people. This guy would have a very low train time, no gold cost, and 1 lumber cost. Training time represents how much training time the unit takes, which increases with the technology nessecary. Gold represents the cost of the equipment the unit is being trained with. Lumber represents the people you are using with the unit. Gold is gotten on a periodic basis. Lumber is detrimmined randomly, with a very small flucuation. The equation for lumber would be (Level + RandomInt. 1-3).
Technology: New units would be obtained by items. You would have a factory. You purchase items from a shop. There would be around 20-30 items. You would combine these items in various ways to make things. For example, Herb A + Herb B + Cloth = Medical Pack. When this medical pack is inserted into a mahcine, you can now purchase medics. There would be technology teirs. Teir 1 would be recipes where only one item is needed. Teir 2 recipes would be 2 items, etc. Items would cost gold. There would be mutliple makers, such as a forge, a combiner, etc.
Spawns: There would be spawns like a hero seige. Levels with steadily harder units. On certain elvels there would be melee, short range, long range, or even huge range. There might be special operations units which could stun.
Battle: Each of your untis would be heros with skills. The leveling represents such things as being a vetren. Units wouldn't exactly be killed. If a unit gets bellow 3%, than it is no longer able to attack, and has a large evasion bonus (95%). At below or at 1%, it is considered seriously injured and is invulenerable. This unit will take time to die (minium 1 minute). It can be revived by a medic in 45 seconds, or by doctors in 30 seconds, or by surgeons in 15 seconds. Units gain exp from things that they kill. Leveling would be relavitely slow. A unit would learn skills, both passive and active.
Strategies: It won't be good if your units are in a rag tag formation. Very vunerable. You can put them into formations for effectivity. You can even get formation leaders who have auras. I'll list some formations.
Line: A formatiom where the player has lots of units. It makes a line across the map using melee, and the hold position command. Behind this would be medics/archers, and behind that would be catapults
Circle: A circle of melee in hold position, than medics, than some range in a circle. A good beganing game strategy.
Units: I won't list them so i can get you guys to participate with ideas, but I will list some of the specialier units.
Fortifications Expert : This guy acutally builds! Amazing!
Unit. Okay, the list of untis should cover the entire techtree with no significant gaps. It would be great if you could include item recipes.
I'm pretty sure Knights will want to map this.
Tell me what you think. Btw, check out Eternal Demise TD, which is somewhere else in the forum.
