Yet, another thread, but I am curious as to know your favorite animes? I could guess Ryoko would love Tenchi muyo, but that doesn't seem to be his type of anime, he might jsut e in love with Ryoko. (In love with a cartoon...:p)

Ya'll most likely know this by now, but my favorite would probably be Love Hina. (My previous avatars would all be Mutsumi)

Either that, or Chobits like in my current avatar. That avatar is of Chi, the main character in the story.

So, what's your favorite anime? (I'm sure you gotta love one, at least, because how can you be a geek without having a favorite anime?;))

HEY! Don't make fun of being in love with a cartoon...I used to be in love with Tuxedo Mask/Darien from Sailor Moon LOL Dang he was fine. Other than that my faves are Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Princess Miyu. What a little cutie Miyu is eh?

Hehe. If you think Ryoko loves Ryoko, then you don't know about me and Mutsumi. She's so cute and innocent, plus she's down to Earth. :) Greatest anime chick alive.. (Well, "alive" wouldn't be the right way to say it, but you know what I mean:p)

Vampire Princess Miyu...? Kind of, if she dropped that Japanese look to her.

Dropped the Japanese look eh? I think that's what I kind of like about her, nice to see an anime character that doesn't look like an american characature. My husband and I watched Ghost in the Shell 2 recently and were talking about how so many anime heros/main characters look like the big beefy american hero like the cyber in Ghost in the Shell as well as the cyber in that recent MTV anime Heat Guy J, or in Sailor Moon, the cute blonde bubble head. Akira and Devil Man were pretty good at having asian heros, but such films are few in the mainstream and it's just good to see a female asian playing a main role. Just my humble opinion ;)

I know exactly what you mean. It's odd that a Japanese show whould have American heroes(?)

It's also hard to find a creator who has his own style, since almost every single one of them have the same type of style. Only ones that I've seen that look different from the rest Are Yugioh!(of course), Zatch Bell, and Tenchi muyo.

Ghost in the Shell have a very futuristic look to it, not jsut the atmosphere, but the drawings and art stands out, which goes perfectly for the whole futuristic theme. Odd that the machines have little girl voices. If you liked Ghost in the Shell, then you should watch Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Comic (something or other) on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Pretty good show, along with Fullmetal Alchemist.

Just watch a few episodes of Final Fantasy Unlimited and Tenchi Muyo In Love - Tenchi the Movie which were absolutey awesome. The way they fight in Final Fantasy Unlimited is a little odd, however, but awesome nonethless.

I will have to check out the adult swim show, I miss a lot of shows on there because they rarely seem to have a set schedule on what plays when, also because it's on pretty late and I tend to be in bed way before midnight LOL That whole, getting older - harder to stay up late thing. But of course I have seen the Tenchi episodes and movies- Ryoko makes sure of that and sends me videos from time to time or gives me a heads up on when they are on tv. They are pretty funny, it's good to see an anime that can make you laugh and doesn't have to be all deep and serious all the time and not be a show for 6 year olds. I will have to look for Final Fantasy, I don't mind wierd. I thought Spirited Away was wierd but still enjoyed it - very creative I thought.

Yea, they change schedules alot. The only problem I have with it, is that they have the sudden bursts of new shows, which all suck horribly, and they take 'em off after about a week of showing them. The only ones that are firm and will stay are Futurama, Family Guy,Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Robot Chicken (Weird name, eh?) is doing pretty good, but some of their skits are odd.

*Raises hand*

I also liked Cowboy Bebop.

I personally don't thoroughly enjoy and watch anime. As a matter of fact, I hate TV and so I get the episodes off the internet every now and then.

Cowboy Bebop was awesome. Especially the last episode, "Ballad of Fallen Angles" when he fights that one dude, bah, forgot his name. Anyways, it was an awesome show, with some weird moments.
