Flash 8 - resize the stage and move x,y the whole movie - plz help

Hello there,
I found your forum while i was searching for flash problem solving tutorials...
Unfortunately, I found nothing about my problem... :(
I' m looking for a tutorial that could help me resize my stage (in flash 8) and let me move the whole movie (movieclips, texts, pictures, actions etc) up-down and left- right.
What I was thinking till now, is to create a new flash file and load it in, as an external .swf file and move it through the new stage by using:

createEmptyMovieClip("movie_stage", 5);
movie_stage._x = 0;
movie_ stage._y = -140;
movie_stage.loadMovie("stage.swf");

please, any help would be much appreciated...
I hope there is a much easier solution...

any scene2movieclip converter?:pp

So what your trying to do is load an external swf into your your current swf and resize the stage (as in the current swf) or an mc?
 
I open my fla file, I resize the stage, I select all the content (mcs, txts, graphics...) and I try to move it up to align it in my new resized stage.
When I do that, all my movieclips, txts, graphics have been changed position, but are not aligned in my new stage.
I tried to select all the layers and convert them into a movieclip but I receive the message: "you cannot place a symbol inside itself"
I tried this cause I know that I can align a movieclip into the stage.

What I could do? :(
 
That is because all of the graphics and objects are seperate. If you group everything on the stage.
And then center it to the stage, and then ungroup it, you should be fine.

As for the .swf....I don't know.

I'm still confused... Do you want the mcs and etc resized too or just moved?
 
just moved...
i select from layer 1, frame 1 to layer 16, frame 405
i group them all but when i move them my animations are in different positions... :s

Why don't you just do _x -= _x-Stage.width/2 and _y -= _y-Stage.height/2
I think that would work for all your mcs and layers and etc.
 
What can i say? :)

Which I don't know how to do necessarily, but I need some kind of a hobby and figuring out how older things worked is the only shit that really interests me. Well soldering and restoration is fun too, but no one is bringing me new stuff to fix and restore, so it's mostly old shit, and I LOVE OG Xbox so much. I want to make sure it can function as long as possible, until someone can effectively emulate it at least. I have like 15 I was going to fix over the winter and didn't get to.

    Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

    We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.

    We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

    So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....
