Pee itself has no hydrogen, not to my knowledge
The hydrogen comes from water, which pee is 95% of, which is also why its pretty much safe to drink it.

Leave your pee in a glass for a while, it will stop smelling

That or you use it up fast enough so it wont start to smell

Urine isn't a molecule itself, it's a mixture of organic wastes, water, urea and inorganic salts. All which the body seeks to get rid of.

Urine is also (normally) odorless, what starts smelling is bacteria breaking down urea. Some foods also have an effect on urine odor, but this is also from the body breaking acids from the food down into rancid-smelling ammonia. Such as asparagus for instance.

A major part of urine is urea, which has the molecular formula (NH2)2CO. As you can see, it is composed of four hydrogen atoms attached to two nitrogen atoms, among other things which are useless in this sense. What the scientists discovered, is that by using an electrode, they can release those hydrogen atoms, and therefore generate large amounts of hydrogen gas from relatively small amounts of urea. That hydrogen can then be used as fuel.

What is impractical about hydrogen power, is finding a useful way to contain it, since hydrogen is a gas, it needs very large tanks to be of any kind of use in combustion or in hydrogen fuel cells. This discovery can help to solve that, since urine is a liquid, it takes up much less space than hydrogen, and by using the electrode, they can release the hydrogen from the urea, without having to worry about the large space needed to contain the gas. Compared to water, releasing hydrogen from urine (urea) requires much less electrical power.

One simply sticks a nickel electrode into a pool of pee, adds electricity, and hydrogen gas is released.
