Halo 2 vs. Halo 3

Hey since I dont have an Xbox 360 and since there is so many nasty,yet true stories about it like it overheating it is even being returned a lot ON THE SAME DAY THEY GOT IT anyways I hear Halo 3 is only for the Xbox 360 I was wondering if any of you tried or have Halo 3 and Halo 2 what are the differnces?
Weapons?
Vehicles?
Gameplay?
Etc.?

Fuel Rod Gun was available on the PC version of Halo 1.
Halo 2 is coming out for PC exclusively for vista.

Some rumored vehicles:

Waterhog - A warthog for above-water battles.
Mongoose - The ATV that was cut from Halo 2.

Some rumored weapons:

Spiker - a new Brute weapon
Spartan Laser - a laser that tears vehicles apart.
Nail Grenade - sticks into walls, sends nails everywhere.

Rumored Feature:

Man Cannon - Launches you into the air.

Random Rumors:

Chief's face will be revealed.
There will be other spartans.
You will see how and why Master Chief is the only one.

the fuel rod cannon is in halo 2, not sure about on the multiplayer maps i know its on a few though

the atv isnt really anything to look forward too. i would rather see a dirtbike as the ghost's counterpart... and a human version of the banshee would be great (like a helicopter or a small jump jet), but then again thats not really halo like

I got a magazine with halo 3 in it and that nail grenade thing was a brute grenade it talked about if you were lucky you could stand next to it and not die because its not an explosion

halo 3 will be very shiny, and your gun goes on your back, but honestly unless you want to get a 360 AND wait for it, you should just go with halo 2

halo 3 they say will have much better custom gametype, and advertising for them too but im not really sure what they meant by that...

Basically, unless your a fan of halo you should just get halo 2 for now. especially if you already have an xbox. If you dont you might consider an xbox360 not just for when halo3 comes out, but theres also halo wars and a bunch of other great games

xbox360 will beat ps3 too... trust me on that one, all the games that come out for it will be for xbox360 too, which would have much better online gameplay with more people (because more people would be able to afford it)

Its all about pricing really, for the next gen consoles, the Wii doesnt count, just like the gamecube, totally different audience.

Anyway, if you have an Xbox, feel free to upgrade to a 360. You might wanna get a cooling stand with it, we recommend them at work. I don't know where ya live or if any of the Gamestops/Funcolands/EB Games around you are doing this, but at work we're doing a promo for people with Xbox's wanting 360s:

Trade in your Xbox and get $80 towards the purchase of a 360. And a free game, I believe. Formerly it was... Gears of War? But my store ran out

Not only is Halo 3 a reason to buy a 360, but the multitude of games for it. As for returns, we rarely get 360 returns unless someone breaks their own console.

As for Halo 3:

isn't Halo 3 like an rts? or is it Halo Wars? Either way, I believe WC3, Dawn of War, C&C, and a bunch of established RTSs will make it really hard to be successful. I always found that RTSs are more gameplay than graphics.

Starsiege Tribes was an OLD fps, maybe around the beginnings of the Half Life. The game was only online, so it didn't have a story mode until tribes Vengence. I liked it because you could go very fast very quickley. It was quite devirse. The series is pretty much dead now, however.

Halo 3 will probably be the end all be all of FPS for me. Halo 2 rocked the cazbah and with the programmers totally redesigning the graphics engine to utilize all of the power in the 360, Halo 3 will reign supreme.

As for other FPS titles for the 360, you might try Rainbow Six Vegas. That game is...well...it`s bad ass. Call of Duty 3 is really good to, and pretty as hell. I bought Gears of War and while it looks really cool and you have all these combat roll manuevers and stuff, after about 10 hours of it, I got bored and frustrated with it.

Hmm, never seen it. I only saw it on a few multiplayer maps on halo 1.

Halo wars is an RTS.

Halo Wars is the RTS. I believe the people who made Age of Empires (The landmark RTS) are making it.

I played and Beaten Halo 1 and 2 on the hardest lvls and in my opinion, two was nothing more then Halo's expansion with a crapper story.
