Hard Drive Space

My 141GB hard drive is almost full so I'm trying to free up some space; problem is, as far as I can tell, I'm only using 80GB of the drive, including hidden system files, and I have no idea what the other 40GB are. So, is there any easy way to determine what those 40GB are?
Thanks in advance.

You are using Windows, aren't you?

If you're sure everything's stored inside the same partition and you've already done a disk check to eliminate lost file fragments, you can run a tool like WinDirStat to visualize who much space every directory uses.

If the computer is telling you that the hard drive is almost full, how do you know that there is supposedly only about 80 GBs worth of data?
