Help me learn how to skin or make a skin for me

Hey i am trying to make a FF3 game but i knwo alot about units terrain and triggers but sadly i don't know how to skin and also whats the diff between skinning and modding? I don't no where to start to skin some threads are too confuseing.
i need

-how to do basic skinning ( i mean like how to make the outline of the unit or just keep the footmen and just change his face or somthing)
-what programs are needed
-how too import it

Thank you and i hope you can help me
(if you just don't wannaexplain becuse it's no confuseing could you make skin/skins for me?) -Clive

Tools Needed (Following found at www.wc3sear.ch in Tools sectio, both are FREE)
- GIMP (Or another image editing program)
- Wc3Viewer

How to skin
- Find the unit/model in the Wc3Viewer Treeview window, then go to Current File > Extract and convert used textures, select the directory etc.
- Open the file in GIMP (Or other program), edit whatever you want (With GIMP if you use the Delete tool it will make areas invisible, team colored areas will be 100% team colored instead of invisible)
- In Wc3Viewer go to Convert Files > BMP,TGA,JPEG to BLP > Find your file, follow the instructions etc.
- Import your skin, to get the path go to Wc3Viewer, find your model in treeview window and right click on it, then select 'Show used texture names' and copy paste the file you edited
- Save your map, check if it updated. If not restart the editor and it should take effect.

Difference between Skinning, Modeling, and 'Modding'
- Skinning: Editing the texture of a model changing its visual appearance
- Modeling: Editing the physical shapes of a model (Hence the name Modeling)
- Modding: Editing an editor or creating a tool to modify a map, or the editor itself

Yeah.. I Probably won't learn this over night :banghead: so for you skinners if you could make me a skin from ff3 idc which a moogle for all i care please ty

Dude, you can't just ask people to make you a skin. At this forum we help you to do things yourself, not do them for you. Have you tried searching wc3sear and warcraft3campaigns? They probably have the skin your after. Also, try not to double post, simply edit your previous post.

lol, it is from 20 days ago i kinda put skinning on hold and tried just dling skins. Btw i never figured how to close threads i have like 4 of em. Wall i'm still talking i might as well ask another question, i'm trying to make a space thing and i wanna use the abass as space i got that part done but how do i replace cliff so i can get the cliff type in cityscape i tried basing my map of of cityscape and then just swaping tiles so i have abss but for some reason i cant add the abss tile please help me :(

you mean adding the tile to the tileset?
well you see there is a red square on it, that means it cant be added, you will find it on the 3 lowest "tilesets" on the list. :D

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
