Help Me With Attacking Options

I am just wondering what to change if I wanted a unit not to attack another unit unless you click attack. Usually if they see a unit in range they automatically attack.

Well if its a melee unit you can get away with putting 100 for "Target acquisition range." But if you try that on a ranged unit, you'll make them a melee unit.

Target acquisition range does not change actual range does it?

And you could trigger it.

When the unit gets ordered, check if it's ordered "smart" then stop it.
This would make the player have to press Attack then click.

    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Is issued an order targeting an object
      • Unit - A unit Is issued an order targeting a point
    • Conditions
      • (Issued order) Equal to (Order(smart))
    • Actions
      • Unit - Order (Triggering unit) to Stop

Im retarded

I dont know why im so dumb but i cant figure that out, is (order smart) a variable or is that an actual option for a condition

It's an option.
You click on the part where it says "smart" and you type it in.
It initially shows up saying "stop".

It's an "Order Comparison" condition.

"smart" is the order given when the player right clicks.

Change the trigger to this:
Trigger:
  • AttackCheck
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Is issued an order targeting an object
