Help with a map

Hello!
i need some help with triggers to do with a map i am creating
the map type is a boss attack one (those like impossible bosses)
and the triggers are so frustrating to do :banghead:
but if anyone can help that'll be great!
i can do the units and items etc

Hey, there's only one way to learn, and that's by doing it! Feel free to search this site for the tutorials and required components you'll need to make the triggers :)

i guess i could try experimenting its just that it takes so much time
and i want to finish my map ASAP

still if someone can give me some good examples for some triggers mainly used in boss attack maps that will be facinating!

You have to give some more info on what you want these triggers to do.

Special attacks? give descriptions of what you want help with, we are not mind readers.

hehe oh yea :S
i forgot that
i want the triggers for special attacks so that when it casts it a piece of floating text comes up saying the move
and i need help with the triggers so that when one of my bosses does a certain move so like with a instant kill move the player dies in a cinematic of the boss doing the move and the player dies in a catastrophic vaperizing explosion (but only the player who dies sees the cinematic)

even though I am now helping you with your triggers (yay!)
other people might want to know.

A trigger would work like

Events
Unit-A unit starts the effect of an ability //or
Unit-A unit begins casting an ability

Condition
Ability Comparison-Ability casted is equal to [your spell]

Action
Floating Text:Create floating text that reads [your message] above casting unit with Z offset 0.00 using font size [whatever] color (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%) //im guessing this is red green blue
and 0.00% transparency.
Floating Text: show last created floating text for all players
Wait 3.00 seconds //or whatever
Floating Text: destroy floating text

OBS!

When creating floating text, instead of using the "wait - destroy" combo, simply add a generic expiration timer to the (last created floating text), at the end of the trigger. You can enter whatever duration you want. It works better than wait since if the wait triggers are run MUI they might make trouble, I think.

Anyway, using the generic expiration timer is easier, imo.

Seriously?!??!!??!?!?!? :eek:

Wouldn't it now work because its a floating text? the expiration timer only works for the last created UNIT not TEXT

well diamond thats a good piece of advice!

and hydra you need to do quests,boss cinematics etc (nearly all of the triggers)
