Event Unit is Issued a order targeting a point
Event Unit is issued a order targeting a object

Condition Issued order is Equal to Patrol

Order Unit stop
Oder Unit Move to (event Respond)Point Of issued order
Order Unit to Move to (event Respond)Target of Issued order

also u can remove the Patrol picture and hotkey and people would be less likly to not do your bidding

exactly.
the only way to remove patrol is to remove Move itself. and if you do this the unit wont be able to move at all...

You could set its class to Ward.
You can still move the unit but the buttons is removed

I've never seen anyone use patrol anyway. Are you trying to free the space up for a spell?
patrol makes playing RPG's gay since you can patrol (or shift + patrol) and then leave your comp on overnight, and guess what? when you wake up you have a level 99 char with 5000000 gold.

good point...
I would make it so that whenever someone is ordered to patrol, make them stop with triggers.

BUT, I think this might disable following, since when you follow someone, the patrol button is highlighted. But, based on the fact that you can tell units to follow people in the WE, they might be different orders. I really don't know...

Anyway, I will probably disable patrolling in my RPG.

hmm

Well, make a "Player is here check" every hour, if they dont reply after 10 minutes of being asked, Boot em

Well the reason i want to get rid of the patrol thing is so i can add a spell like one of the above replyes said, so i can add more spell spots, if this isnt possible ill fit it in somehow coz i think one of the already issued spells are pretty gay so thx anyway.!!!

Easy -- pop a -1 health monster at some point on the path. If the player is AFK, the hero will stop and attempt to take on the monster and be hitting the monster for eternity. (-1 health is damn near infinite health)

This will annoy players, especially me.

Actually, I don't think that disabling patrol (via triggers) will disable the unit's ability to "follow" another unit.

In Defi4anc3's ORPG, if you try to patrol, you mysteriously do nothing. However, when you right click on another person, you keep following them. Dunno. gotta try it.

As for the check for players, those things will piss off players. (No offence to u guys.) 1st off, the asking players to respond will not go well. Noobs to the game will be like "ZOMFG! haXXors! WTF DO I SAY!!!!!!!1111111" (or idiots may reply this way.) Since 90% of B-net doesnt actually READ pop-up messages, the message saying "type in "I'm here"" will go unheeded. (Seriously, people dont read damn things like that. I've know people get messages saying "X level to enter this dungeon" Then they IMMEDIATELY ask "Y cant i nter?")

As for the -1 critter, that sounds kinda cool XD. Buuuut, what happens when you have about 10000 of them on the map? Since they cant die...they wont. Unless u remove them w/ triggers... Plus, it'd be hard to determan the players "path." You could simply create a critter at the player's location, but what if that player's in a boss fight? He may end up casting his UltimateSpellO'Doom on the critter instead of the boss. (How many times have u accedentally ulti'd phantom assassin?)

Sorry. Had to rant there a bit.

Now if disabling "patrol" does disable your ability to "follow," what you could do is set up a trigger that whenever a unit is issued an order to "patrol" to a unit. (Not sure if this can be done XD) Then every X seconds, order the unit to move to the target unit. (would need variables and such and it'd be one hell of an ugly trigger.)

That's my 2.24 cents.
