How do i make Waygates work?

title says it all, it doesnt seem like i can just place 2 in certain areas... are there triggers for them?

No there aren't triggers for them (though you certainly can trigger them anyway). They use the Waygate ability, which links one unit to a certain point on the map. Personally, I don't have much experience with it, but fiddling around can definitely teach you a lot .

They work with regions.
Although you may think they teleport you from one Waygate to another, they don't. They teleport you from the waygate, to a region.
If you want it to teleport to another waygate, simply place a region and put a waygate on top of it.

To set where you want it to teleport you, just double-click the waygate in the terrain editor and it'll open the specific unit's properties, of which you can set it's teleport point.

Yeah I think BAkil is correct.
This can be seen on the map (9)Riverrun (an epic roc melee map(hah i really like this map cause creeps are kinda tough aka it's good for team games and ffa)).
Guess regions don't count as custom stuff cause melee maps allow them. : P
