How to make a unit/building like a walkable platform?

[SOLVED] How to make a unit/building like a walkable platform?

PLAN A)
I want to make a flying unit or building so that it can transport units. So if I'm using that flying unit above water or Outland abyss, units to be able to walk and move on that flying unit while they cant move on the water/abyss.

So something like a unit that is walkable, kind of like destructibles can be made walkable. I'm asking about that kind of 'transport' not using load/unload or cargo hold.

I'd say its either impossible or such a waste of performance and other resources that its better to assume its impossible then to try it out.

changing the pathability of a point is possible, changing the flying height of units is possible. both periodically according to a units position, a unit of which there might be several on the map would be killing the performance most likely. especially with GUI.

I see. I've used the editor for lots of years though never tried that and wondered if I was missing something but apparently not.

I would add them as attachment units to the platform to simulate the're on it but the units are different scalings so True/false Scale Projectiles wouldnt do well for the platform as some would be too big, others too small, each has to be its own scaling as it currently is.

There is no way to make each unit attached via ability or trigger to the platform at different scaling or is there an ability that can make the attached unit to whatever size I want?

no, attachments either use the scaling size 1.00 or the scaling of its attachment point. setting it individually for every attachment is not possible.

Ok thank you, that was important so that I dont waste my time trying what war3 engine isnt made for.

So I'll make them flying units that move to their same points every 0.01 sec

that would work, kind of. and still alot better performance-wise then trying to make it real, with moving platforms where units are standing on. (that would be theoretically possible as well)

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
