How to trigger a player-name activated event?

Basically this is what I'm asking- How do I make a trigger that activates when a player with a certain name is in the game? Sortof like old Vampirism versions like .13 where if vampiric.tobias joined his human would be a wolf or something. I'm trying to do it to a line tower wars map of mine where if someone named ANiV.Disturbed joins it, the model of his builder would change.

Thanks in advance <3

Code:
Events - Map Init

Actions- For each integer A from 1 to 12

do if player integer A's name = "name"

then do X

Is there any way to do it with GUI or do I have to script it?

Also, with the "do X" part, what do I do? I can't really script to save my life...=\

Do I do something like:

"kill [unit] and spawn 1 [unit2] at region" or something?

so you want an ability that only you can use and no one else, in other words a cheat / exploit?

Code:
Untitled Trigger 007
    Events
Unit - A unit enters (Playable map area)
    Conditions
(Unit-type of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Footman
(Name of (Owner of (Triggering unit))) Equal to Your Name
    Actions
Unit - Replace (Triggering unit) with a Knight using The old unit's relative life and mana

Was freehand, this is the real base.

Code:
Melee Initialization
    Events
        Map initialization
    Conditions
    Actions
For each (Integer A) from 1 to 12, do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions
If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
                    If - Conditions
(Name of (Player((Integer A)))) Equal to Personz
                    Then - Actions
Unit - Create 1 Footman for Player 1 (Red) at (Center of (Playable map area)) facing Default building facing degrees
                    Else - Actions

when useing a string the string has to be spelled exacly the same, lower case for lower case and upper case for upper case.

I did, and when I start the map up it won't replace my Builder with the ANiV.Disturbed unit I created.

I think it's not case sensitive when it comes to this. Anyway, instead of trying a damn complicated name, why not try another simpler name like 'hello' or something else. When you're sure the trigger works, then put back the true name that you want.

And, what did you do that makes the trigger didn't work? Did you created a Footman for yourself? Because the trigger will only fire if the Footman (not preplaced) first enters the map as suggested by the event 'A unit enters somewhere'.

Else, you can try using Cloak's trigger. It should work as well.

Like vypur85 said, try an easy name and don't use the unit enters playable map area.

The trigger: "Unit - A unit enters (Playable map area)" only works when a unit actually enters the region, and does not count for spawning/replacing. The code your looking for is something to the effect of "A unit is created/spawned" Another way to achieve this effect is to make a trigger like this:

Code:
Do Action
    Events
Time - Elapsed game time is 5.00 seconds [b]--// This will be about 1-5 seconds after the original unit is spawned.[/b]
    Conditions
    Actions
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions
If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
                    If - Conditions
(Name of (Picked player)) Equal to NAME [b]--// Your name here.[/b]
                    Then - Actions
Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units owned by (Picked player) matching ((Name of (Picked player)) Equal to NAME)) and do (Actions)
                            Loop - Actions
If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
                                    If - Conditions
(Picked unit) Equal to (Last created unit)
                                    Then - Actions
Unit - Replace (Picked unit) with a Footman using The old unit's relative life and mana
                                    Else - Actions
                    Else - Actions
                        Do nothing

I got it, here's what I did:

Code:
Aniv
    Events
        Unit - A unit enters Aniv <gen>
    Conditions
(Name of (Owner of (Triggering unit))) Equal to WorldEdit
(Triggering unit) Equal to Builder 0000 <gen>
    Actions
Unit - Replace (Triggering unit) with a ANiV.Disturbed using The old unit's relative life and mana

So your saying that the trigger I entered doesn't work, sorry man only way for it not to work is if you did some thing wrong, here is a map with a working version of the trigger, well as long as you didn't change the default world editors name.

Here is the trigger as well

Code:
Untitled Trigger 001
    Events
Unit - A unit enters (Playable map area)
    Conditions
(Unit-type of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Footman
(Name of (Owner of (Triggering unit))) Equal to WorldEdit
    Actions
Unit - Replace (Triggering unit) with a Rifleman using The old unit's relative life and mana

Now if the unit is preplaced this trigger wont wont as it is. You will need to change the unit enters region to some thing like player selects a unit, then it will be changed into your unit the first time you select it.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
