How to use upgrades individually?

I enabled my Guard Tower to research and use an Upgrade that increases damage. I only want the Guard Tower I upgrade to get the bonus and not the other Guard Towers. How can I do this??

make the upgrade make nothing and then make a trigger that gives the tower which has been upgraded a bonus dmg of X.

modify a damage bonus upgrade(upgrade that modifies attack dice) and make the guard tower use that upgrade and no other towers

Just change that tower to another tower. Upgrade it to guard tower lvl2. Create another unit and add the stats that you want.

I still want to build mutiple Guard Towers, however, I want each to have their own bonus upgrades. By this I mean, one guard tower has level 3 damage upgrade while another guard tower has level 5 damage upgrade. I don't want every Guard Tower to share the same damage upgrade, which is the problem I am facing. Thanks all for replying so far, very much appreciated =]

like i said....make an upgrade named "damage upgrade" or whatever but it changes nothing....then make a trigger that the unit/tower who has been upgraded get bonus dmg of XY.....so just this tower gets the bonus dmg and u have no problems with it^^

You will run out of upgrades sooner or later that way.

There is no way to make a upgrade individually, using the same upgrade.

Guys, normally in WC when a unit is upgraded (at the barracks let's say) ALL units of that type get the upgrade enabled. He wants it so that ONLY that tower gets the upgrade (Just like any TD upgrade).

Its plausible, but you have remove the upgrade animation, change the sound to say "Research Complete" instead of "Upgrade Complete" and change the notification message to "Research Complete"

Ever seen Claws of Attack? Adds damage. There's some ability there. If you were to give that ability to your tower, done. Could be a nice solution there.

They are all great ideas, but maybe I'm not being too clear. I want to have each Guard Tower have their own individual upgrade bonus that potentially can be infinite, and I want something that can make the work less tedious than making 9999... towers... I've seen something like this before, however, I'm not too experienced to replicate it. Thx all for the replies so far. Still a learning experience for me =D

ghan's solution seems like it would work to an indefinite end

you can keep adding more item abilities for extra damage i think.

but instead of making it a research or an upgrade you will probably have to make it train a dummy unit then remove the unit.

that way you dont have a limited number of times you can upgrade.

True "upgrades" won't help you here. Pretty sure there is no way to get them on a single unit without affecting the entire unit-type.

What Ghan said. Just add abilities to the unit (or you could be shifty and use Tomes of Damage...).

Make the tower have a dummy spell (upgrade damage)
Claws of attack and change the stats on claws of attack

A unit starts the effect of an ability
ability being cast equal to upgrade damage
If all conditions are true then
lumber of owner of triggering player equal or greater to XXX
gold of owner of triggering player equal or greater to XXX
then
set lumber of triggering player to (lumber of triggering player - XXX)
set gold of triggering player to (gold of triggering player - XXX)
If level of claws of attack greater than 0 then
set level of claws of attack to (level of claws of attack for triggering unit +1)
else
add claws of attack for triggering unit
