i decided to get back into map making

i just installed wc3 and the expansion.
im going to connect to bnet for updates.
what add-ons for the editor should i use?
obviously i am going to want to install newgen... but what else might i want?
i hear that rtc got some major updates recently... is it worth trying now?
and should i make 2 installations of warcraft? one for rtc and one normal one?

newgen doesnt work with maps so make sure your not on a mac, and you dont need any programs to make amazing maps. best map ever uses nothing but plain jass and gui.

No, the best maps ever do not use plain GUI and vanilla JASS, they likely use vJASS because it is a much more sane and efficient environment and far more useful than the default World Editor, especially the mac one, so please stop discouraging the use of vJASS.

i restarted firefox and cleared my cache.
i started the dl, firefox froze midway, then when it recovered i got this error

C:\Users\me\Downloads\jassnewgenpack5d.zip could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred.

Try saving to a different location.

tried the link again and it gives me the file not found error from before.

EDIT: turned off my antivirus, download worked finally.
EDIT2: what are the advantages and disadvantages of rtc?

The advantage of RtC is that you can run C++ in your map and do almost anything, including GetMouseX/Y, and an API for all different kinds of things.

The disadvantage is that users need to use RtC Warcraft.exe to play RtC Maps.

i think it might be because ff automatically scans files after a download.
