So this is an idea that I came up with after playing this around a campfire this summer in the middle of the night. Its basically taking the mystery/narrated game 'werewolf' (like SWAT if you have ever done that with friends) and putting it into a turn-based WC3 game. Heres how it plays for those who havent done it before:
Characters:
werewolf - there is about 2-4 for 12 people, they do the killing of course
villager - the normal person, completely oblivious
shaman - just like the normal person, except they have 2 potions. 1 potion kills, one revives some 1. They can use these whenever, but they only have 1 of each
Hunter - also like a normal villager, exce[pt can kill one person when they die
Seer - also also same as normal villager, but can ask once a round if some 1 is a werewolf. The moderator responds accordingly
Sherif - the sherif startes the handing process, as talked about later. He also has 2 vots and is elected
Moderator - in normal life, some 1 would do this, but I will program all of this.
Rules:
->the game is werewolves vs. others
->the sherif can be anyone, as he is voted in
->the werewolves appear to be normal townsfolk during the day
->turn order:
What a round would sound like:
Moderator: The town goes to sleep... and the werewolves wake up
Moderator: Werewolves, select the person which you want to kill
*werewolves discuss who they want to kill and select them in a dialog*
Moderator: werewolves, go to sleep. Shaman, wake up. This person is going to die (name of person targeted). Do you want to save him/her/it?
*shaman selects yes/no in a dialog box*
Moderator: do you want to kill anyone?
shaman selects yes/no in a dialog and who, if they said yes*
Moderator: shaman, go to sleep. Seer wake up. Choose someone who you think is a werewolf
*shaman points to someone (dialog)*
Moderator: that person is a werewolf. Go to sleep seer.
Moderator: awake everyone. sadly, ____ has died overnight. please choose someone to hang.
*the townsfolk converse, acusing people and eventually vote on who to kill*
Moderator: And ____ is hung by the mob. And so the townsfolk go to sleep once again, hoping that they are safe...
Other little things:
->everyone would be sitting around some scenery, in first person mode
->screen would go black at night, except for the dead people (observers)
Q&A:
How can it be balanced if there are 4 werewolves and 8 other townsfolk?
Both the werewolves and the townsfolk can kill only one person per turn, so even though there are 4 werewolves, they can only kill 1 person.
I know that this has been used before, but never turn based, so I want to know: will this be good, or the shittiest peice of shit ever?
