[Ideas] Concept: Sword cuts through anything

I need a few ability suggestions for a Hero. The concept behind it is that its sword can cut through anything. Either Str/Agi based hero, will be determined on abilities. It is a samurai, loosely based on armor reduction.

If anything, I'd suggest a set of abilities that use trigger enhancement to deal pure-type damage. Particularly if you're modeling the unit after a samurai, look up Iajutsu (Sp?); If I remember correctly, it's a japanese style of swordplay designed around ending fights in one cut. Pure damage single hits on high CD, preparation abilities; A stacking buff that can be unloaded onto someone, but has a duration that keeps it from getting to the point of 'lolioneshoteverything'?\

I'd suggest that a part of his abilities be damage oriented and a part of them be movement; Make him a relatively fragile agility hero who specializes in moving around and delivering the fatal strikes, unless you want to make him into a tanker. Balancing might be kinda precarious; Pure type damage can easily be OP.

Also, side note; I wouldn't suggest armor reduction; Armor reduction leaves room for the enemy to hit negative armor, which is incredibly potent. The pure damage type I suggested above means you don't have to worry about hitting negative armor, and can balance the damage values purely around what you expect the other heros on your map to have, HP wise.

What is the genre of the map?
For RPG, I think it would be good to make a powerful bladestorm type spell. Or maybe a chance to insta-kill non-boss enemies upon attack.
For AOS, you could add a high-damage high-cooldown melee spell and a charge type spell which destroys trees and damages enemies in the hero's path.

Iaijutsu is a form of self-defense. If you were to base it on Iaijutsu, you would want to make him a more defensive character.

1- sword bash
Slow target and deal splash to nearby enemies.
2- whirlwind
Chance on hit to spin, damaging enemies and cutting trees
3- retaliate
Chance when hit to damage and push back nearby enemies
4- chace
Follow a target with max ms, if you meet a tree its cut, if you meet a unit its damaged each second and pushed back, when you meet target hit a critical and stun.

Thanks hellcraft and crazy +reps. Its for an AOS for a hero known as the Silver Samurai. I was thinking of damage and a non blinking/ or pushback hero just powerful slashes, need help with coming up with abilities like that.

Dash-Bash
dash at your target, dealing XX damage to the enemy, and pushing them back for a distance of 300, creating nice spectial effectds of ground beging destroyed, and eventually stunningg the enemy for 1.5 seconds

half swing
hit every target in fron of the target (180 degrees), and dealing 25% of the max hp of the enemy. range: 100

3:
Sword Throw

throws the sword for a maximum distance of Movement speed times 4
the target unit has a 10% chance to die instantly.
in the other 90%, you deal 250 damage, stun for 6 seconds, and slow thier movement for 33.33% for 25 seconds.
after the sword is thrown, the samurai wals to the target to retrieve his sword. during this preiod the samurai cannot attack

Well, assuming that you want four abilities, IE 3 and an ult, lets see..

Agility based, high Str hero (IE, if you've ever seen Naix on Dota's stat scaling, like that, but instead of str based high agi, agi based high str. =P)

Defensive/Stationary ability; When active on, the Silver Samurai refuses to back down from his position, and while remaining seemingly immobile, deflects his foes with the greatest of ease. Each enemy that comes within (melee) range of the Silver Samurai finds itself buffeted back by a single, powerful sword slice, while his enemies find him incredibly difficult to wound, granting him (bonus armor / temporary evasion). The Samurai cannot strike another foe within (x, x, x, x) seconds of his last strike.

Passive/Buff ability; The Silver Samurai is constantly preparing himself for his next fight. For each second he spends out of combat, up to (x, x, x, x) seconds, he spends as long in combat with (x, x, x, x) bonus armor / evasion, (x, x, x, x) bonus damage, and (x, x, x, x) bonus attack speed.

Offensive/Movement ability; The Silver Samurai gathers his strength and charges, while laying out foes before him with powerful swipes of his blade. Charges (x, x, x, x) distance over (x) seconds, while leaving enemies in his path dazed (x ms penalty, possible accuracy debuff) for (x) seconds. While charging, the Silver Samurai is (unit collision size = 0).

Ultimate; The Silver Samurai becomes utterly attuned with his soul and his weapon, reaching a state of temporary enlightenment. During this time (x, x, x seconds), he prepares himself to counter any enemy attack upon his person. Should an enemy attack him, he will move up to (x, x, x) distance towards them, and should he reach them, attack, dealing (x, x, x) pure damage.

The idea behind the ultimate is that while it'd be very powerful against a single enemy, if they were smart enough, two people could kite him around while his ultimate was active, making him unable to actually hurt either of them.. And then, since he's occupying two people on the enemy's team, that leaves his team with one extra person to kill everyone else on their team.

I like the half swing alot, although id just have constant chaos damage. This makes for a skillfull ability that is hard to hit the target but with a good payoff :) +rep


Tarivol the first ability sounds good for a getaway on low health, and the charge ability is great ,I was maybe thinking of a passive where each attack builds up and on every x attack he unloads a bonus amount of damage. +rep again , keep the ideas coming :)

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
